No. 26: Nong Khai to Bangkok

The No. 26 Special Express train from Nong Khai to Bangkok goes via the Lam Narai branch line (Kaeng Khoi Junction to Bua Yai Junction). This passes along the viaduct over Pasak Chonlasit reservoir, though unfortunately you won’t see anything as it is in the middle of the night.  Total distance is 209 kilometres and the journey takes ten hours and 45 minutes. This train has the new CNR 1st Class and 2nd Class sleeping carriages. At the moment, there is no restaurant car on this train and you are advised to take your own food and drinks. Tickets in 1st Class are 1,357 baht for the upper berth, 1,557 baht for the lower berth, and 2,357 to book the cabin if you are travelling alone. In 2nd Class, tickets are 898 for the upper berth and 998 for the lower berth. The return journey is made by No. 25 Special Express train.
