Yes, you can buy tickets at Hua Takhe station. Or you could take the Airport Rail Link to Lat Krabang, and change to the train station of the same name next door.

Hello and thank you for all this very practical information. We are planning a trip to Cambodia in November 2024 and are landing at Bangkok airport. I wanted to take the line at one stop, that of Hua Takhe (near the airport) to avoid taking the train at Hua Lamphong station. Is it possible to buy tickets at this Hua Takhe station?
Thanks, have a good day

You will need to make your way to Poipet which is on the border with Thailand. Then cross there. There are two trains a day. At 6:58 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. If you miss the last train, there is a hotel there you can stay the night or just catch a bus to Bangkok.

Excellent info Richard. I will be doing a tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. It finishes in Siem Reap. I was wondering how to then catch a train to Bangkok and you have provided the answer. Thanks for all your train tips. I will be doing a few other trips and your page is an excellent resource.

Thank you, Richard Barrow. That is one of the best trip reorts I have had the pleasure of reading lately.
My brother and his wife live in Phuket part time, so I can feel a sort of connection with Thai trains, however tenuous. Please file further trip reports as time allows!

Hi Richard Barrow, good day, I had just bumped into your website and found all the interesting information with your first hand knowledge and experience in Thai railway and trips. It comes very very useful as it is a wonderful experience to travel by train and not rushing.
And I would like to congratulate you on your upcoming book on the Thai railway after doing so much extensive research on them. Keep it up and keep in touch , Richard.
