Dates to Buy Train Tickets for Travel in January 2026

According to SRT ticketing rules for long distance trains, if you are travelling between 25% and 59% of your train’s route, then you can book up to 30 days in advance. If you are travelling from 60% to 100% of the route, then you can book up until 180 days in advance. So, for example, if you are going all the way from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, then you are going 100% of the route and you can book up to 180 days in advance.

Look at your date of travel in the first column and then see when you can book your ticket. The second column is for 30 days in advance and the third column is for 180 days in advance.

If you are travelling at least 60% of the route, you can book up to 180 days in advance. If you are travelling less than that, but at least 25% of the route, then you can book up to 30 days in advance. For anything less, you can only book one day in advance.
