Tickets on Sale Now for Steam Train Excursion to Chachoengsao on 3 June 2024

In honour of Her Majesty Queen Suthida’s birthday on 3rd June 2024, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) will operate a special steam locomotive train excursion along the Bangkok – Chachoengsao – Bangkok route.

The special train will feature two steam locomotives, the No. 824 and No. 850 Pacific class locomotives, built by Japan in the 1950’s. These locomotives are currently preserved and maintained at the Thonburi Locomotive Depot. Passengers will have the opportunity to experience a piece of railway history as they travel on this unique train.

Tickets for the steam locomotive special train can be purchased online through the D-Ticket system or at any railway station nationwide starting from 4th May 2024, at 8:30 AM.

The round-trip fares are as follows:
• Adult/Child, Third Class Ordinary Train: 329 baht
• Second Class Air-Conditioned Seat: 529 baht
• Air-Conditioned Sleeper and Air-Conditioned OTOP): 799 baht

All fares include snacks and drinks for both the outbound and return journeys.

Train No. 903/904 will depart Bangkok Station (Hua Lamphong) at 8:10 AM and arrive at Chachoengsao Junction Station at 9:50 AM. Passengers can then explore the city of Chachoengsao by songthaew or tuk-tuk. The train will depart Chachoengsao Junction Station at 4:30 PM and arrive back in Bangkok (Hua Lamphong) at 6:10 PM.

The train will make stops at Makkasan, Khlong Toei, and Hua Mak stations to allow passengers to board or disembark. Residents living near the Bangkok – Chachoengsao railway line can also enjoy watching the steam locomotive as it passes through their area.
