D-Ticket Waiting List Now Available for Train Passengers

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has announced the launch of a new “Waiting List” function on its D-Ticket online ticketing system. This feature allows passengers to join a waiting list for trains in case the desired seat is full.

The Waiting List function is available to passengers who book tickets through the D-Ticket system via the internet (i-Ticket), application (M-Ticket), or ticket counters at stations (TCT). Passengers must be registered members (Member) who have verified their identity in the SRT’s D-Ticket system.

In the above example, the greyed-out box is for a sold-out carriage that you can join the waiting list. The box with a white background means there are seats available.

To use the Waiting List function, passengers must follow these steps:

  1. Be a registered member (Member) and have verified their identity in the SRT’s D-Ticket system.
  2. If the desired seat is full when booking a ticket through the D-Ticket system via the internet (i-Ticket) or application (M-Ticket), the system will display the “Waiting List” function. Passengers can then activate the function by clicking on “Waiting List” to confirm their request.
  3. If passengers come to request a seat reservation at the D-Ticket system at the ticket counter at the station and the desired seat is full, they can inform the ticket counter staff to activate the “Waiting List” function to confirm their request.
  4. When passengers choose to use the “Waiting List” function, if the system checks and finds a vacant seat, the D-Ticket system will automatically send a ticket booking code to the passenger’s email. Passengers must take the ticket booking code to issue a ticket within 3 hours. If the deadline is exceeded, the system will automatically cancel the right immediately. Passengers can issue tickets themselves through the internet system (i-Ticket), application (M-Ticket), or go to the station for the staff to issue tickets for them.

The Waiting List function is available starting from May 1, 2024.
