Information about 1st Class steam train trip to Chachoengsao

Tickets for the annual steam train trip to Chachoengsao on 12th August 2022 (Mother’s day) went on sale two weeks ago. The 2nd Class tickets priced at 299 baht sold out within one day. However, for this trip the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) were also selling 1st Class tickets for a whopping 2,999 baht. Partly due to the high price and the fact there was literally no information about what you would get for this, there are still tickets left. As of press time, thirteen seats out of forty remain unsold. Now the SRT has just released the itinerary for the first time. As usual, the information is only in the Thai language. It is like the SRT are not interested in attracting foreign tourists and expats.

It looks like the 1st Class passengers will be travelling in the OTOP carriage and not the luxurious SRT Prestige carriage as what was first presumed. The price will include snacks on the train and then lunch by the river. There will also be a coach tour to two temples and one riverside market.
